Everything in this domain, searched in your own browser. No query is sent anywhere and none is recorded.
What it searches
Five things at once, and you can narrow to any one of them:
- Pages — title, summary, keywords and the whole body of the page.
- Interview questions — the question, what a reviewer is listening for, and the answer that loses the mark.
- Examination briefs — the brief, the constraint, the ground and the difficulty note.
- Exercises — the setting, the task and the marking note.
- Glossary terms — the term and its definition.
Every word you type has to appear somewhere in an item, so fewer words find more. A hit in a title or a keyword ranks above one buried in the body, and pages rank above practice material when the score is otherwise level — because a page is usually what you were looking for.
Things worth searching for
Half-remembered rules are what this is best at. 300 pages, automatic fail, 13:00, Arial 10, 28 days, three details, fit and proper — each of those lands on the page that explains it.
It is also the fastest way to find every question or exercise touching a subject you know you are weak on. Search stability, or redaction, or transfer, and narrow to questions or exercises.
Search this domain
568 pages, questions, briefs, exercises and glossary terms — full text. Searched in your browser, and no query leaves this device.
Type at least two characters. Try a rule you half-remember — “300 pages”, “automatic fail”, “13:00” — or a term you have seen and not understood.
What ranks above what
| Where the word appears | Effect on ranking |
|---|---|
| In a page title or keyword | Strongest — this is usually what you were looking for |
| At the start of a title or term | Stronger still |
| In a question, brief title or glossary term | Strong |
| Anywhere in the body | Counted, but ranked below the above |
| Not present at all | The item is excluded — every word must appear somewhere |
Ranking is deliberately simple and runs entirely in your browser. Fewer words find more.
If you cannot find something
Have I used fewer words?
Every word must appear in the item. Two precise words almost always beat a sentence.
Am I searching for the Institution's word or mine?
IStructE and ICE name related things differently — Core Objective against attribute, mentor against sponsor. The glossary sets them side by side.
Is it something only IStructE holds?
Dates, deadlines and fees are deliberately not published on this site, so no search will find them here.
